The types that are strong against Tyranitar are Fighting, Fairy, Grass, Ground, Steel, Water type Pokemon.

For the best defense, Fighting types have very effective defense against Tyranitar, and will be resistant to damage from Tyranitar's STAB attacks:

Weaknesses

Tyranitar's type is Rock and Dark.

Tyranitar is especially vulnerable to Fighting attacks, it will receive a super effective four times (4x) the amount of damage! Since Fighting type Pokemon are especially strong against Tyranitar, you should attack with this type of Pokemon.

Tyranitar has a weakness to Fighting, Fairy, Grass, Ground, Steel, Water types. These Pokemon types will be strong against Tyranitar, causing Tyranitar to take a super effective quadruple (4x) damage from Fighting type attacks, and causing Tyranitar to take a super effective double (2x) damage from Fairy, Grass, Ground, Steel, Water type attacks.

Psychic type attacks will have no effect on Tyranitar, as Tyranitar is immune to this type of damage! Please avoid these types of attacks.
