For the best defense, Flying, Fire, Steel types have very effective defense against Sewaddle, and will be resistant to damage from Sewaddle's STAB attacks:

Rock types will also deal super-effective damage against Sewaddle, but be careful using Pokemon of this type because they may also receive extra damage from some of Sewaddle's attacks!

Weaknesses

Sewaddle's type is Bug and Grass.
