For the best defense, Steel types have very effective defense against Bastiodon, and will be resistant to damage from Bastiodon's STAB attacks:

Bastiodon's type is Rock and Steel.

Bastiodon is especially vulnerable to Fighting and Ground attacks, it will receive a super effective four times (4x) the amount of damage! Since Fighting and Ground type Pokemon are especially strong against Bastiodon, you should attack with this type of Pokemon.

Bastiodon has a weakness to Fighting, Ground, Water types. These Pokemon types will be strong against Bastiodon, causing Bastiodon to take a super effective quadruple (4x) damage from Fighting and Ground type attacks, and causing Bastiodon to take a super effective double (2x) damage from Water type attacks.

Poison type attacks will have no effect on Bastiodon, as Bastiodon is immune to this type of damage! Please avoid these types of attacks.
